El Ministerio de la Veridad.
El desarrollo de la tecnología y la llegada de Internet ha permitido que cada vez más personas puedan acceder a cualquier tipo de información desde cualquier parte del mundo. Sin embargo, en ocasiones toda esta información puede generar un exceso de ella y superar nuestra capacidad de asimilación provocando la desinformación del usuario.
Frente a toda esta desinformación y el auge de las fake news, el gobierno de España ha creado la Comisión Permanente contra la Desinformación. El 6 de octubre de 2020, tras los casos de fake news surgidos en la pandemia de Covid 2019, nace dicha comisión coordinada por la Secretaría de Estado de Comunicación y dirigida por el Departamento de Seguridad Nacional con el objetivo de mermar el problema de la desinformación según el Plan de Acción Contra la Desinformación de 2018 de la Unión Europea (referencia BOE-A-2020-13663).
Según la Comisión Permanente contra la Desinformación o ya llamada por algunos medios como “El Ministerio de la Verdad” en alusión al gobierno distópico del libro 1984, no tiene como objetivo en sí censurar o sancionar sino centralizar las competencias de control al Ejecutivo.
Una de las críticas que ha recibido la recién creada Comisión es la falta de esclarecimiento y definición del término “campaña de desinformación”, lo cual crea un contexto de inseguridad jurídica al no saber exactamente cuando sería pertinente o no que la Comisión entre en acción.
Por otro lado, cabe destacar que el monopolio de verificación de la falsedad de la información lo tiene el Gobierno, lo cual implica que la verdad dependerá de quien está en el poder, pudiendo así solo desmentir las mentiras que afecten al partido que obtuvo la mayoría parlamentaria. A este efecto cabe mencionar que el Gobierno es por definición el que tiene que ser controlado por la sociedad y no al revés.
Por lo tanto, es importante que haya organismos que controlen la veracidad de acontecimientos y noticias, pero también se debería de mirar la transferencia de los mismos con el fin de tener una información honesta y veraz.

According to the Permanent Commission against Disinformation, or already called by some media as “The Ministry of Truth” in allusion to the dystopian government of the book 1984, its objective is not to censor or sanction, but to centralise the powers of control of the Executive.
One of the criticisms that the recently created Commission has received is the lack of clarification and definition of the term “disinformation campaign”, which creates a context of legal uncertainty as it is not known exactly when it would be appropriate for the Commission to take action.
On the other hand, it should be noted that the government has a monopoly on verifying the falsity of information, which means that the truth will depend on who is in power, which means that only lies that affect the party that obtained the parliamentary majority can be disproved. To this effect it is worth mentioning that the government is by definition the one that has to be controlled by society and not the other way around.
Therefore, it is important that there are bodies that control the veracity of events and news, but it should also look at the transfer of these in order to have honest and truthful information.
